We are actively looking for:
Youth worker
Main functions
- Carry out personalized interventions with young people aged 15 to 25
- Set operational objectives in line with project requirements
- Welcome, actively listen to and assess client needs
- Help young people find specialized services (training, sports, youth centers, extracurricular activities, employment services, etc.)
- Foster an alliance with families in the best interests of young people
- Organize activities to promote integration in Quebec
- Organize information sessions on topics that affect the organization’s youth group (sexism, bullying, alcohol and drug use, racism, sexuality education, use of social networks, rights and laws, etc.).
- Encourage the mobilization and involvement of young people in their activities and long-term projects.
- Liaise with local youth partners
- Provide intercultural mediation with family, school, health system, friends, etc.
- Promote ICI services outside the organization
- Actively participate in the youth committee, activities and meetings organized by the coordinating organization.
- Collaborate with the youth committee liaison officer
- Recruit young people to participate in the youth committee
Profile required
- Experience working in a multi-ethnic environment, with a diverse clientele and with young people aged 15 – 25
- Knowledge of the immigrant community and various public health and community networks
- Mastery of basic computer tools and software
- Recognized helping skills, including availability and flexibility
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Fluency in another language in addition to French and English is a major asset.
- Completed university-level education
Conditions
Full-time: 35 hours per week
