Parents circle

The aim is to provide families with a space for expression and exchange on issues related to settlement and integration in the new host society. Meetings are organized to learn about the services offered by La Maisonnée, but also those of the various institutions of Quebec, schools, universities, etc. Specific family life and couple questions are on the program of these exchanges which can be in the form of coffee-meetings, outings in the park or in other places at the convenience of the participants. Specific issues such as the education of children, the life of teenagers in a new socio-cultural context, the question of identity, can be tackled with complete freedom during these meetings.

Topics such as discrimination against women are discussed in order to inform the women concerned of the legal provisions put in place in Quebec. All relevant information and resources are provided in cases of domestic violence and harassment in all forms. The intersectoral approach makes it possible to cross the different types of discrimination related to ethnic origin, religion, educational level, social or marital status, etc.
